I am very impressed with many of the additions and improvements to DaVinci Resolve Studio 21. The update is a free download for both the free DaVinci Resolve and the paid DaVinci Resolve Studio. However, Blackmagic clarified in the presentation that at some point, they’ll likely have to charge for major upgrades. Among the show-stoppers (in my opinion) are the still photos (including reframing and cropping them at their original source resolution and aspect ratio), facial refinement & AI Blemish Removal, AI Speech Generator finally from text (no longer having to transcribe initially from audio, as I covered in detail in Cloned Voice Shootout: FlexClip, ElevenLabs, Descript, DaVinci Resolve Studio in December 2025), multilingual spell checker for all text modes and AI Face Age Transformer, which lets you age or de-age a face by dialing in the desired numeric value.
