DAM Keynote: The Incentives to Preserve: Digital Assets and Long-Term Motivations

Createasphere's New York Digital Asset Management Conference featured a Keynote address from Butch Lazorchak, Digital Archivist, Library of Congress. His presentation was titled The Incentives to Preserve: Digital Assets and Long-Term Motivations and he detailed how and why the preservation of digital assets is so important to people in both the present and the future. {C}

The National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program at the Library of Congress is a collaborative effort amongst government, academia and the private sector to implement a national strategy to collect, preserve and make available significant digital content for current and future generations. Lazorchak's work puts him in touch with the broad scope of national digital preservation and stewardship issues, and he has tackled numerous jobs since joining NDIIPP in 2004.
