da Vinci Launches Professional Services Division

da Vinci Systems, LLC, today announced the creation of the da Vinci Professional Services division to support the evolving and increased demand for system interoperation, storage optimization, and remote operations at leading post-production facilities worldwide.

Taking the leadership role in this new area of customer service and support, da Vinci is leveraging its expertise in digital formats, near-set and mobile color grading, and digital intermediate workflows to deliver a new level of service to its customers and the industry.

Led by Jim Mackrell, da Vinci’s service marketing manager, who brings more than 25 years of product development, technical service, and engineering management experience to the new role, the new operation will service and support current and future da Vinci customers. Rohit Gupta, who has more than a decade of software development and project management experience with da Vinci and other companies, has joined the da Vinci Professional Services team to assist customers in Europe and Asia and will be based in Singapore.

“We launched da Vinci Professional Services to address a growing demand from clients for optimizing their production and post-production pipelines,” said Dean Lyon, da Vinci’s vice president of marketing. “With this initiative, da Vinci leverages its decades of grading and image enhancement systems experience and large installed customer base to deliver value added services that only da Vinci can provide.”

da Vinci Professional Services are offered as part of, or as extensions to, existing customer support agreements.

The new service offering coincides with a workforce realignment in Singapore in which da Vinci engineering operations have been consolidated with similar operations in the region. Engineering development will continue in both the U.S. and Singapore.

“da Vinci Professional Services leverages our team’s experience and strengths to provide a new dimension of support and technological advancement for our customers,” said Mark Malinoski, general manager of da Vinci Systems. “Post-production facilities continue to need technical services during the current economic downturn to operate more efficiently, as well as to be in the right technical position when the economy turns around.”
