At IBC, Adobe has announced major updates to Adobe Video apps in Creative Cloud, which should be available in mid-October. This comes after Premiere Pro CC got 25 new features + bug fixes in a July update. Regular subscription updates do seem to be coming as expected, making it easier to use and digest changes.
The updates include :
- Direct Link integrated color pipeline between Premiere Pro and SpeedGrade, for any file types supported by Premiere (which runs in background)
- Expanded native support for 4K and higher resolution, RAW, and UltraHD content
- A smoother editing experience with new editing features, and improved multicam and closed captioning
- Performance optimization, including improvements in Premiere Pro CC for OpenCL, new GPU debayering of Cinema DNG for real time playback, better AE transition support (think Sapphire and similar), faster JKL navigation, smaller timeline Trim cursor, single-click Frame Holds, Ripple Sequence Markers, GPU acceleration for Program Monitor moves, Link & Locate proxies, and Hover Scrub of sequences.
- Faster on-set production workflows, including a preview of the new Prelude Live Logger iPad app

New SpeedLooks in SpeedGrade offers dedicated camera patches; multiple masks in SpeedGrade
- New masking tools – a new Mask Tracker in After Effects
- Effective detail-preserving upscaling in After Effects
- Media Browser in After Effects, plus Property Linking, Anchor Point improvements, improved snapping, many optimizations including OpenGL acceleration for current Intel HD Graphics
- Sync Settings, watermark and timecode overlays, some GPU rendering in Adobe Media Encoder
- Better production planning with Adobe Story Plus
- The Next-Generation of Adobe Anywhere for video, with After Effects support, network voice over support, project archive and restore

Adobe is showing off the new features in a September 13 Ask A Video Pro eSeminar. Live demos of the new features can be seen at the IBC tradeshow in Amsterdam, September 13 – 17, and in the Create Now World Tour.
