axle video LLC, a new company bringing radical simplicity to the traditionally complex field of media asset management, announced that its axle 1.0 software has been named as a Best Of IBC product in TVB Europe’s highly selective awards process.

The browser-based software was introduced at the IBC conference in Amsterdam last month; it supports iPads, Windows PCs and Macs. The software makes it possible for small-to-midsize teams in postproduction facilities, field locations and corporate environments to collaborate easily and rapidly around video content.

Patrice Gouttebel, axle 1.0’s product manager, said; “we were gratified to see the response from so many attendees at the show, and now from the influential editorial team at TVB Europe. We suspected we had something very unique to offer the worlds of broadcast and postproduction, and this announcement gives us a real boost in validating our approach.” The TVB Europe announcement can be found here: http://www.tvbeurope.com/theworkflownews-content/full/tvbeurope-best-of-ibc-awards-announced

In addition to exhibiting at IBC, axle video also exhibited at the Createasphere NY DAM conference and received coverage from a wide range of trade journals and websites. The company’s CEO, Sam Bogoch, was interviewed by TheNextWeb and ElegantWorkflows.com.

axle 1.0 is browser-based software for searching, managing and collaborating around media files. It is priced at $1,295 for each 5 users, and runs on a Mac mini installed in the local network of a production facility. axle 1.0 is shipping now, and is available for purchase from axle’s website ( www.axlevideo.com ) as well as from a growing network of resellers and integrators worldwide.

Sam Bogoch talked to Createasphere about the product at their recent Digital Asset Management Conference. You can watch the video here.
