APRIL MEETING BRINGS LEADING COMPANIES TO LAPPG 1

Los Angeles Post Production Group’s April 18th meeting will feature two presentations from industry leaders, Vimeo and Halon Entertainment at Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, CA. ‎

Derick Rhodes, Vimeo’s Director, Creator Programs and Events, will share the latest from Vimeo as the company launches support for 360 and announces a steady stream of workflow-related tools including Enhanced Review Pages and the new Vimeo Panel for Premiere Pro. In addition, he will inspire attendees with some recent Staff Pick highlights. Derick will also preview Vimeo’s NAB programming for this year.

Vimeo has recently come on board as a Platinum Level Partner of the group. LAPPG Co-Founder Woody Woodhall, CAS explains, “Having an industry leading company like Vimeo as a new partner of the LAPPG is a real benefit to our members. It’s through companies like Vimeo that we are able to continue to offer valuable content on a monthly basis to our expanding membership of content creators, post production professionals and filmmakers.

After Vimeo’s presentation and a networking break, Kendra Ruczak, Managing Editor of Sound & Picture will be will be moderating a postvisualization panel discussion with HALON Entertainment. Sound & Picture is a crew-centric workflow magazine covering sound, cinematography, picture editing, visual effects, and the latest in gear and technology.

HALON Entertainment is the leading visualization company in the film, TV, and game industry. Part of their expertise is in postvisualization, the art of digitally placing assets in production photography to flesh out the story for final VFX and edit teams. We will be joined by HALON’s Clint G. Reagan, Tefft Smith II, and Casey Pyke, postvis supervisors and leads from films including “Logan,” “Kong: Skull Island,” and the upcoming “War for the Planet of the Apes.” They will discuss postvis’ crucial role not only in film, but in the art of storytelling.
