Allegorithmic’s ProFX utilized by T3 Entertainment for next-generation online game development

CLERMONT-FERRAND, France – Nov. 10, 2008 – With the graphics quality of MMO games rapidly growing, developers are seeking new ways to condense content for quick downloads and better in-game experiences. In line with that trend, Allegorithmic today announced that ProFX is being integrated into the production pipeline at T3 Entertainment for next-generation game development. Best known for “Audition Online,” a hugely popular massively multiplayer online (MMO) game that challenges players to accumulate points by showing off their best dance moves in a cyber-disco, T3 Entertainment will use ProFX to develop a Sci-fi free-to-play MMO codenamed “Project G,” to be published by Hanbitsoft, a major Korean publisher.

“Our audience wants superb game play and outstanding graphics but they need easily downloadable files,” said Joo chul-ho, producer at T3 Entertainment. “By using the advanced texturing features of ProFX to author our upcoming titles, we will be able to provide online gamers worldwide with the high quality and fast downloads that they require.”

The non-linear authoring process behind ProFX enables game studios to produce texture assets up to two times faster than with regular techniques. ProFX procedural texture files are very small in size — typically 500 to 1,000 times smaller — making them ideal for use in MMO games, virtual communities, casual, and downloadable games.

“T3’s productions are immensely successful in South Korea,” said Dr. Sebastien Deguy, president and founder of Allegorithmic. “We’re glad to see such a company utilize ProFX for reaching an audience willing to experiment the highest quality graphics in an immersive online universe.”
