Document Management Service Companies are the Rodney Dangerfield of the ECM industry — they just don’t get no respect. Or maybe a better way of saying this is that they are the great hidden treasure of the document management industry.
We’ve done some 8 things postings by guest bloggers on many topics, but none have adequately covered the case for working with a service bureau. Last year, Mitch Taube from Digiscribe talked about the 8 things you should look for in a document management service provider. The piece was very insightful in helping end users sort through how to chooseamong service providers.
But that begs the question ofwhy an organization would think about working with a document management service company or service provider in the first place.
So I thought I would post my opinions on the role that Service Companies play, with a little help from some of the experts in the space (listed at the bottom of the post).
