10th Magnitude Builds Interactive Content Distribution Platform for The Shadow Gang

Cloud application developer 10th Magnitude has built Galahad, a cloud-based, multi-platform distribution engine for digital experience entertainment company The Shadow Gang (TSG). The innovative application dramatically changes the marketing landscape for media and entertainment companies worldwide.

Created and housed completely in Microsoft’s Azure cloud, Galahad is an affordable, modular engagement tool that allows content owners—such as movie studios—to create customized immersive story worlds that include games, videos, merchandise and sponsorships to promote their entertainment properties. The platform expands distribution, builds audiences and generates revenue.

“The development process was essential to the success of Galahad,” says Alex LeMay, President and Founder of TSG. “10th Magnitude understood that the project needed both artistry and technology, and their project organization system is militaristic and artistic at the same time.”

10th Magnitude’s use of cloud technology allows TSG’s customers to cost-effectively access Galahad during promotional periods (e.g., the months surrounding a movie launch). The platform also scales capacity and expense on demand, accommodating user spikes.

Some of Galahad’s critical marketing tools:

TSG’s idea for Galahad stemmed from GoBZRK, an online world TSG created to promote the BZRK science fiction books. GoBZRK included videos, a mobile app, interactive comic books and an online social game, but was an expensive property-specific application with extensive maintenance and limited shelf life.
