Glidecam: new products at NAB 2016

Glidecam Industries goes to NAB 2016 with two new products: the XR-Pro, its lowest priced stabilizer, and the iGlide II, the most advanced and sophisticated small stabilizer for compact cameras up to 3 lbs./1.36 kg.

Glidecam Industries, manufacturer of camera stabilization systems and accessories for use by both film and video makers will be at NAB 2016 with their range of products, including the DEVIN GRAHAM Signature Series. Devin Graham, the author of adventure and extreme sport videos will be present at Glidecam booth to talk about his experiences.

Glidecam will use NAB 2016 as the launch pad for the XR-Pro, a critical addition to the Glidecam product family. The XR-Pro, able to handle up to 10 lbs./4.5 kg, was designed to provide customers with a budget-friendly and versatile stabilizer that can handle a wide range of camera and accessory weights, all while offering the upmost quality.

With a price of $289.00, the Glidecam XR-Pro combines, according to Glidecam, all of the best aspects of the former XR-Series and adds some new helpful features. The XR-Pro comes with 4 steel camera platform weight plates that enables the use of very light cameras – this is what allows for such a significant camera weight support range. The XR-Pro is enhanced with a new head design, which has a customized bottom plate that allows for more accurate side-to-side movement to ease the set-up process. Notably, the new head design facilitates faster mounting of cameras and quick release plates.

Like all Glidecam stabilizers, the XR-Pro will transform, according to the information available, “shaky footage into hypnotically smooth, professional footage by isolating your hands undesirable yet inevitable motions. When balanced properly, your camera will seem to effortlessly float. Upon mastering the skill and art of using a Glidecam XR-Pro, you will be free to direct and move with your camera – panning, tilting, booming or running without any camera instability or shake.”

The second product being shown at NAB 2016 is the new and improved iGlide II, which the company presents as “the most advanced and sophisticated small stabilizer Glidecam has ever offered that handles very light and compact cameras weighing up to 3 lbs./1.36 kg. The iGlide II is the perfect companion for the on-the-go customer who often needs or likes to shoot video with small and lightweight cameras. It is perfectly sized to be easily stored – you can bring your iGlide II anywhere without effort.”

The iGlide II, priced at $249.00, has taken all the great features of the original iGlide but has some new adjustments that allow for more versatility. The former iGlide handled up to 16 ounces in camera weight – now the iGlide II can handle cameras even up to 3 pounds (3 times the capacity of the original iGlide) while still maintaining a small, light, and incredibly portable size. It has the same high-end gimbal that is unique to Glidecam, and it also comes with 4 small steel camera platform weight plates should the operator want to add more mass and more inertia with the use of extremely light cameras.

Devin Graham’s Glidecam

Devin Graham, the international, Internet and YouTube sensation, whose popular videos now have more than 736 million total views, accompanied by over 3.9 million individual subscribers, will also be present at Glidecam’s booth, on April 18 and 19, to promote the DEVIN GRAHAM Signature Series, a professional, hand-held camera stabilizer jointly developed by Glidecam and Devin Graham.

The DEVIN GRAHAM Signature Series is designed for 2 to 12 pounds (0.90 kg. to 5.44 kg.) cameras and costs $799.00.

Glidecam Industries Inc. offers a wide variety of camera stabilizers (camera stabilization systems) for use with motion picture cameras, video cameras, and video camcorders. These hand-held and body-mounted camera stabilizers create super smooth shots, and allow the operator to walk, run, go up and down stairs, shoot from moving vehicles, and travel over uneven terrain without any camera instability or shake. Glidecam camera stabilization products make ideal camera accessories and can easily replace or be used in conjunction with dollies and tracks, booms, camera cranes, and tripods, or monopods. Both professional filmmakers and amateur movie makers alike can enjoy the fluidity and grace that Glidecam camera stabilizers provide.
